パーソナルインテリジェンスシステムであるApple Intelligenceの日本語・フランス語・ドイツ語・イタリア語・ポルトガル語（ブラジル）・スペイン語・韓国語・中国語（簡体字）・英語（シンガポール）・英語（インド）対応、機能改善やバグ修正、セキュリティアップデートなどがアップデート内容となっています。
Apple Intelligenceにより書いたり自分を表現したりタスクを簡単にこなすためのAIがiPhone、iPad、Macに組み込まれます。Siriと作文ツールにChatGPTが統合し、ユーザーがアプリを切り替えなくてもChatGPTの専門知識を活用でき作業をこれまで以上にすばやく簡単にこなせるようになっています。

iPhone向けiOS 18.4は2018年発売のiPhone XR・2019年発売のiPhone 11・2020年発売のiPhone SE (第2世代)以降のモデルがアップデート対象、iPhone 8・iPhone X・iPod touchなどは対象外です。
iPad向けiPadOS 18.4は12.9インチiPad Pro(第2世代以降)・10.5インチiPad Pro・11インチiPad Pro(第1世代以降)・iPad Air(第3世代以降)・iPad(第6世代以降)・ iPad mini(第5世代以降)のモデルが対象です。
